Pile pull-out test (static tension load test)

Black Geotechnical was engaged to conduct a static tension load test on a decommissioned transmission tower raked 750 mm diameter concrete pile footing.  The project included developing a testing methodology, testing frame design and fabrication, construction of the testing system on site, load testing (to AS2159), the deconstruction of the testing system and reporting on the recorded results.  The maximum specified testing load was 450 kN and the maximum observed deflection was about 2 mm.
