FOOTING DESIGN FOR BUILDING ADDITION
Melbourne
Black Geotechnical organised and supervised the investigation of the site with CPTs and a borehole. The site access is very limited (both for the investigation and for construction) especially with headroom and a practical footing design was developed following consultation with specialist contractors and other consultants involved with the project. The outcome was to construct a large spread footing on the stiff sediments above the Silurian sedimentary rock. Installing piles was not practical due to site access restrictions.
